Cesalie, Please Go To Your Room!
Karlie was in her own crib, in her own room by 5 months old. With Rylie, it was 4 months. Cesalie is a little bit over 8 months old and she is still sleeping in a pack n play next to our bed. She has a nice crib waiting for her in her room, which she shares with Rylie, but she wants nothing to do with it. We put her in it and she cries and cries. It's so heart breaking. Well, on Friday night and Saturday night, we made the decision that she just needed to cry it out. She cried it out both nights, and finally fell asleep, but both mornings she was up at the crack of dawn crying again. Also, all this crying is disturbing Rylie's sleep, and Rylie needs her sleep. Believe me! So, tonight we gave in to Cesalie's demands and put her back in the pack n play next to our bed. I'm at a loss, I just don't know what to do. We even tried putting the pack n play in her room, but she just screamed. She does not like her room. And, also she is not napping well either. She will take a morning nap, but not an afternoon one. I feel like all she does is cry lately. She doesn't have any teeth yet, so I guess she could be teething, but I don't see anything coming in. My other girls were pretty laid back as babies. But not Cesalie, nope. Anyway, I am open to suggestions if anyone has any advice.
On another note, Cesalie is so very cute. She is really babbling away and on the go!
She is starting to eat solids a little bit better, she is finally showing some interest. We have also been giving her some Gerber puffs. At first she would gag and make a face, but now she is doing better and I think she likes them.

She is a doll!
I don't know if I can help. All my girls slept in their room from day 1 but MA was not a good sleeper. I would have to sleep on the floor of her room but the second I left the room she would start crying. Since she was the oldest though, she was waking anyone else up (except us.)
All I can think of is what Supernanny suggests, but I don't know if that works on an 8 month old. Maybe Rylie could sleep somewhere else for a night or 2 till you get Cesalie settled in.
Good luck. I'll be thinking of you.
All your girls are beautiful.
Does Cesalie nap in the pack and play or in her crib? Maybe she just needs to get used to being in her room/crib more? Maybe when she is awake, you could put her in there to just play a little. Put her down for her naps in the crib if you aren't already doing so.
I was thinking along the same lines as Deb-- have Rylie sleep somewhere else so you can get Cesalie settled into her new sleeping routine.
John is a good sleeper, but I remember with my girls, they often had sleep issues right around the time they were hitting developmental milestones. Maybe since Cesalie is on the go so much during the day, it is getting harder for her to settle herself at night. I don't know what your bedtime routine is, but if you haven't already tried it. Maybe you could spend more time with Ceslie in her room right before bed. Read her some books, sing her a lullaby, hold her a little and then put her in her crib. I just remember having a consistent routine at night made it easier to get my girls down.
As we know, each kid is different and sometimes it just takes trial and error to find what works best.
Good luck.
Cesalie eats baby crack, too! If you check out my post today, you'll see what I'm talking about!
You may just have to wait until she gets older to have her sleep in the other room. Preston is in our room still! He's 14 months old! But we have the actual crib in our room!
Logan is back in our room because he started waking up at 6am babbling so loud he woke Devin up. Devin shares his room with Logan and sleeps until 7 or so. I hope that Logan can go back in his crib soon so that we don't start a bad habit. He is going to be 10 months soon. I feel your frustration.
